I shot this styled session about two weeks after moving to O‘ahu. I wanted to create something simple and natural that felt true to the environment here, so we put together a mock elopement with a really relaxed, unposed approach.
I worked with a local makeup artist, Helena (HC Beauty), who kept the hair and makeup soft and effortless—nothing too done, just something that would hold up in the wind and still feel like them.
Kelli and Frank modeled for the session, and they made it easy. Instead of heavy posing, I had them move, walk, and interact naturally. The goal was to keep it feeling real rather than staged.We leaned into more of a documentary, editorial style—focusing on in-between moments.
